Sadge manga. Rated it a 3 cuz it was sad but didn't feel overly sad. Like there wasn't enough development and I didn't REALLY LOVE the characters that much (kinda lacked personality). But it was a cute sad read :(

This story has been on my list for years but I haven't read even a single page of this story for a reason. Many years ago, before I've seen this title here in this website, I have read this novel novel with a similar story as this. If you're thinking, "oh this story has a novel, maybe that was it' but unfortunately no. It is a different novel, with a different title and different characters but they share almost the same story. If this story is 10 years, that novel is 12 years. The title of that novel is THE GAZE AT THE SCENES OF DEBAUCHERY. Until now, that novel left a mark on me, that's why I'm still having doubts on this story. I don't want to get hurt again that's why. That's all.

Adolph and Lewis were once in love and had a healthy relationship. They were cute together, but their relationship turned into an abusive one, with Adolph hurting Lewis both physically and psychologically.

Adolph, who was a sweet boy, began to be cold, lie, cheat and eventually even raped his partner. Lewis was a bright kid, but he gave up on himself and his dreams and started living only for Lewis, who became more and more abusive as time went on.

In addition to this broken relationship, Lewis also had to deal with his deteriorating health and undergo cancer treatment alone. I like how realistic the story is and how well it portrays an abusive relationship in which the abused person still deeply loves the abuser. All the sadness and hope that the good times will return, all the struggles to give up on a relationship that is long dead, all the suffering for the feelings you have to let go of... The depiction of the difficulties after finally letting go of the broken relationship is also extremely real and well done. All the struggle to believe that you are worth of TRUE love and affection, accepting someone else's and even your own new feelings, building a new and healthy relationship...

I wish there was a new story (AU, reincarnation or something else) showing Lewis and Ivan in a wholesome, happy and long lasting relationship.
