90s art woow I didn't expect I will find it again I'm seeing it more than many times I guess mangago really wants me to read it .

totally 'not gay,' arrogant young doctor leaves japan for new york city and engages in love affair with guy who inspired him to be a doctor. this one is better than it's sequel in my opinion, but still not great. the way AIDS is presented is pretty unrealistic, but i guess AIDS was still pretty new and mysterious at this point. i did feel a bit for tomoi being swung around by his lover, and felt like their dynamic was a bit closer to the real life male x male couples i've known, but tomoi is kind of mystery- his flat affect kept me from really engaging with him and the story moves at a frenetic pace. i think slowing down some parts, elaborating in others would have given me a chance to sympathize with the characters more. very 90s art.
