Both a compelling read and an indulgent melodrama, a well-told and engaging love story that even manages to be genuinely touching for all of its excesses. I think what makes this story work is the picture we get of the couple when they are children thrust into a strange environment. Their interactions, while not precisely realistic, feel genuine, and their dynamic as adults stems from that foundation formed as children, lending their later interactions weight and poignancy.
In addition to being really well put together on all fronts (art, pacing, characterization), this hits a lot of my personal sweet spots: folklore & mystery. The individual cases that they investigate are foregrounded in the narrative, which makes the development of their mutual feelings more satisfying, co-existing as it does alongside standalone supernatural mysteries. It gets added credit for being mature in its understanding of relationships and sex. All in all a criminally underrated manga.
The story of a family of succubi who must survive by draining the life-force from humans through sexual intercourse. I know - sounds kind of silly, but its premise is handled well. It isn't just a cheap gimmick; the manga really delves into the different ways that the characters cope with being immortal parasites.
Do be aware that it does have the "oh no"-actually-means-"yes" thing typical of yaoi, although in this context it is a bit more complicated.
A naive university student accidentally summons a demon (in the most hilarious way possible) on a date that has gone horribly wrong. Hijinks ensue as this timid young man tries to negotiate his everyday life while keeping his new demon companion a secret. A manga that merges slice-of-life fish out of water comedy with high fantasy adventure (and the art is lovely). As a bonus, no rape or dub con! I cannot recommend this enough.
Taking place in a world in which supernatural realms intersect with the human (and - I am not sure - but it seems that the humans generally know about the existence of these realms), a human employed by hell takes on one of its top demons as a lover. The demon, however, was also human once, and most of the manga is about uncovering his past and what it means for their future.
Not a bad read by any means, and certainly a page-turner. A nice romance with a supernatural twist.
No dub con/rape.
A hideous goat demon, who is charged with saving humans from disease and evil spirits, is rescued from humans bent on killing him by a fire god, who gives him a beautiful human form & becomes his master and lover. The bulk of story is centered on their life in the contemporary world. There is also a slightly darker short story in the middle (not too dark) that I found considerably more interesting, but isn't developed any further. A good read if you're looking for something on the lighter side.

I want to recommend you Hari no Hana and Vassalord(especially this since its one of my fave) for this list though technically by western fandom standards they're not yaoi but shounen ai lol.
