I would've rated it way higher than what I did (3 out of 5) if it wasn't for the usual "extreme rape as torture" harada stuff. I get it when it's just a messed up kinky story, but this was had a valid plot and the last scenes where yoru and asaichi make love after starting to date are great. Harada is great at delivering intimacy and I like the writing a lot, but that part with the revenge rape was just so unnecessary and ruined the story for me.
This is a perfect sequel! The plot has much less homophobia and more realistic problems. Harada is actually great at realism, in a certain way, and the dynamics between the characters are awesome. The only thing I can comment on is that some sex scenes were amazing, but the lacked the feelings of the last scene in the previous story. I might bump up the rating if reading this later without directly comparing it to the first volume makes me like it better.
I read this a while a go, but what I remember is that you start as a kinky enemies to lovers and then it develops in a much bigger thing. The plot was compelling and drove me to read it all in one sitting, but at the same time I think the motivations for the main villain were clichè (in a "he was raped and tortured bc he's a pretty boy" kind of cliche). I need to reread.
