At first, I could not relate to Yuzu’s boldness and straightforwardness. But when I embrace her intentions: the thrive to be genuine to her feelings, to tend to those she cares abt as if there may be no tmr, and to focus on what truly matters.. the story becomes more interesting. It’s no longer (just) abt 2 hs girls who became stepsisters and share romantic attraction, but also by addressing the true reasons why Yuzu’s actions may be unfathomable, we understand our own yield to social pressures.
Whenever there's a story abt a shy girl crushing on an attractive older women, it almost guarantees my attention. I'm really happy that the connection between them is mutual, and that's it's just not the girl's one-sided and unrequited crush while she watches their exchanges descend into sad farewell.
This story partly embodies (my) ideal of romanticism. They might not meet each other in a perfect circumstance and/or even state. But like how the love between Bibi and Amy come to fruition in 언니's "I Love Amy", true affection is when you are able to accept and adore them wholeheartedly and wholly. You realize the hint of struggle hidden behind their bright smile. It's easy to say in words, yet much harder in action.
