It really don’t matter what the lesson is supposed to be when it starts off this poorly executed, this paints not just black people but foreigners in general as violent and disruptive, considering how bad xenophobia is in South Korea which is especially bad towards darker skinned people this narrative further perpetuates that foreigners specifically black ones are bad.

The clear racism towards the bully is brushed off or paints the racist as the victims because he started it,

It’s also is attempting to attack an issue grounded in reality off of a premise entirely removed from it, this shit WILL NOT happen in Korea cause there is no place where foreigners out number South Koreans IN South Korea no matter how small the data pool is… if they really wanted to touch on the subject that rascim can go both ways Daniel is a mixed character from AMERICA specifically Harlem NY there was so much space for that in Daniel’s backstory but that’s required research and actually giving a fuck abt the story ur telling. instead they twisted the reality of darker skinned foreigners in south korea to what could very easily end up being some racist fantasies where the half white man saves the South Koreans for the big scary black foreigner who hates them for no reason, cause the story literally invalidates any reasoning the bully could have for being that way by sayings he’s never experienced oppression which LITERALLY happens w the teacher refusing to acknowledge him as a Korean dispute him being mixed. This start is just so bad that no matter how big the turnaround is IF there even is one this is still gonna do damage

And if you wanna “see where it goes” literally no one is stopping you, your not a fucking victim cause people are making it clear that this is a really bad chapter and has a worse start than any other arc in this story and it probably isn’t possible to come back from, literally stop crying and read it in silence
