Doesn't need a reason. It is cute, it is not real, it is enjoyable. If you don't like it, then cool you can stop reading and commenting on it. That said the 700,000 copies of the manga sold over just 5 volumes and popularity in Japan means it won't stop being made so there is no use continuing to complain about it.

Nope, it is super cute and is doing fantastically in Japan. You can even see it in many bookstores, advertised all over the place. Even on English-speaking Twitter it is mostly doing well, the only complaints I see are on this site alone. People are shocked that a series called Shota x Oni (Shota x Onii-chan) is about a shota x an onii-chan.
