The kid needs some sympathy and less hate. He’s cautious because he doesn’t know what the MC wants from him. Sure the mc is helping him in kindness and pity, but the kid doesn’t know that and it’s probably making him nervous.
The best comparison would be helping a cornered animal. Most aren’t gonna immediately trust you, even if you’re helping it and giving it everything it needs. It takes time to build trust. And right now there’s no trust between the MC and kid.
Please take the time while reading to comprehend the story and not just look at it surface level.

Why are people mad at him, he was just homeless for who knows how long, separated from his mom and probably traumatized. And then taken in by someone who does the same thing as what they did to his family. There’s no clear motivation behind the MCs actions (in the kids eyes).
Would you not also be a little defensive? People always complain saying a plot is unrealistic and then get mad when they are realistic..

I don’t think this story is supposed to have a mind changing, brain turning plot with complex characters.
The mc is just supposed to be a dumb puppy, I don’t think the author is a pedophile purposely making the MC childlike for weird purposes. The underwear thing was probably supposed to be a dumb gag. And I think people are looking too into it
Did the art quality change? Why are all the good series go down in art quality like this has to be studied because I can’t take it anymore
output quality changes because the demand and frequency is so high. there’s a lot of pressure put on authors / artists to get chapters out in time so deadlines make it hard to be drawing in peak condition all the time
