Reading this is stressful as someone who prefers the second ML, he has a better personality and is more charming, funnier and more good looking. IDK, it is frustrating because authors could at least give some chance to a second ML instead of just leave them there hanging while ML1 gets it all.
I also think MC and ML1 dont have chemistry and are even boring, the problem for me is that ML1 is very boring and uninteresting to me. Anyway, I will pick it up again if ML2 appears more and theres a miracle MC stops going to ML1 like a puppy.
i lowkeyy want the 2nd ML to be in a relationship with the 1st ML’s famous ex or atleast find someone else. idk i usually love when theres another couple in bl’s. although they all need some character development i think it would be nice so the 2nd ML isnt just sad and lonely watching
i really wish the manhua gave the story justice, because the novel is really well done in telling the reason the mc acts the way he does, and while people may think he is stupid or too weak, i actually consider him one of the emotionally strongest mcs ever, because imagine having to run away MULTIPLE times to get away from a guy whos in a powerful position and can easily find you and will never let you go, all while you have ZERO resources? thats why i hate how so many comments are basically victim blaming the mc, its seriously concerning, says a lot about some peoples beliefs and their media literacy. anyway, the manhua is definitely lacking some of the compelling aspects from the novel, so if anyone is brave and dont shy away from these themes, i do rec reading the original source, the writting style is amazing and while some situations might look over the top, theres some realism element on the plot.
I've read Beloved Enemy/Tit-for-Tat. That was a hard read!!!
Idk if I wanna read more of this in novel form. But since the manhua is cut short I might have to take it up anyways.
There are similar thematic elements in both stories. Obsessive top. Rapey top. Hahaha
I don't blame Cheng Xiu. I can't even imagine someone going through what he went in this story irl. I would have probably just km at some point that psycho tried to chain me back again
