basically onaga is a conventional cute girl with everything going for her and she should be happy as she says in the beginning, but we clearly learn she isn't and instead she feels hollow because everything in her life is "good' but monotonous. She doesn't have any real passions or close relationships, and is shown staring silently at the functional families and friend groups that sit at her job.
Kawashibara is the exact opposite, he is not conventional at all and a social pariah but he has the one thing she doesn't; genuine passion and a clear soul whenever he dresses up in girls clothes and does girly things. Onaga lives vicariously through Kawashibara's happiness by providing him with girly things like makeup and clothes. She enjoys being responsible for his happiness and can find purpose by delivering these small joys to him.
When she learns that he wants to confess to somebody and actually move forward with his life instead of staying her plaything, she lashes out and says that she was the only reason he got thus far; and that she is the harbinger of his happiness and without her it's impossible.
obviously he gets rejected and now onaga can be his deity once again and she wins in the end ig

after like 25 chapters or so the ml has a complete switch to a panicked adorable loser cause he gets so down bad and then spends dozens upon dozens of chapters making up for it, both self aware that its fucking wrong lol. the story completely changes into them being their own people and they barely have any sexual scenes for a good long while
I actually really like this manwha specifically becuz most average drama webtoons would make onyu and cheri fight and have friendship rifts constantly but they truly care about each other and their bond transcends any messiness from ilmi and her pussy parade because of the implicit trust they have in each other. Maybe they will have a big fight in the future but I'm glad it hasn't happened cheaply in the story yet.
Most webtoons would also have Cheri just be an evil shallow popular girl trying to make herself look good by sticking to Onyu but her character is much more layered and complex than that and their friendship is genuine.
My guess for Cheri's past is that she either got bullied or was a bully at her old school (based on the way she reacted to bob girl telling them she got bullied for her weight before) and that she got plastic surgery to escape from it and obsessed with the way she looks (which would explain her ed). Or it has something to do with her mysterious family. Or both.

really really good up until she graduates and goes to high school and then it gets really weird, tropey, and unrealistic. Should've stopped at the middle school graduation ending with a time skip where we see that she managed to find her way and ended up happy in the end without dragging the plot and making her love interest a trashy playboy
