I was walking into the bookstore Borders (yeah that store went bankrupt, best place ever though) and I went into the manga section. I was already into it seeing as my sister got me into Detective Conan in Kindergarten and she bought me the first volume and that started my collection and I was also super into Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball, so I knew all about manga and anime.
Anyways...I was walking Into the section and I saw this one title Little Butterfly volume 3...(by Hinako Takanaga, YUP). I didn't think much of it, the guy looked like a girl (I now know) and I was used to reading innocent things like shoujo...I kept reading it and at first I was like "So cute" this guy and girl love each other...I kept reading and more things happened and eventually I realized that it was two guys and they were having sex.
I remember putting it down for a bit and trying to take things in, but eventually I kept reading it...I WAS A CURIOUS KID...That day I went to my older sister and explained what I saw...I knew about Gays and lesbians because my sister came out to me and I knew about sex...Internet...I WAS TERRIBLY TERRIBLY MATURED FOR MY AGE...
So fast forward like a year or so...I don't really remember...MySpace was a thing and popular in school, it was morning and I had woken up early to go to school, I was waiting for my ride, and everyone was gone...I looked up Yaoi again (I ended up looking it up after the experience, the manga, and it led me to the genre, and from then I was reading a bunch) and it led me to the video of a yaoi anime....Sensitivel Pornograph...never will forget that day...I watched it the next day and the next....and that's how I became a yaoi fangirl...
Then at the age of 18, I remember walking into Half Price Books looking for used manga to buy and I found Little Butterfly, all 3 volumes...I bought them on the spot and today it is one of my favorite manga series! I'm now 20!
