Ha! You thought this was gonna be about rape. No this is a rant about how people write paragraphs defending fictional characters in bl or manhwas. Like why are putting in the effort to defend a character because they had a traumatic backstory when that traumatic backstory is pretty much just there to make you pity the character in a play out attempt to add depth to characters?
Would you rather they be one dimensional? I don’t see what the issue is in attempting to explain why a character is the way they are. And wouldn’t you want characters to have depth? That’s what makes a story interesting. 1 reply

I'm gonna clarify what I meant; depth is good when it actually adds depth, not when it's a half hearted attempt to smooth out a shitty ml's rougher edges and make them more palatable. That's when the confusion sets in, why are people defending this character because of their backstory when that backstory just exists to deflect hate from a character...... reply
