Second hand embarrassment from media
I feel like I'm uber sensitive to SHE in media and I hate because it makes enjoying said media much harder. I've dropped stuff because of this and it's a curse. This is why I hate the liar-reveal trope, not because it's flawed in itself, but when the reveal happens, I just want to sink into a hole and die. Anyone else have this problem?
yeah haha it's the biggest reason I drop reading a manga/manhwa. it doesn't even have to be the 'bad' kind of embarrassment (ex. someone gets caught in an embarrassing situation) it can also be the cheesy embarrassment like in romcoms so I usually steer clear of those cause seeing people be embarrassed from their first kiss or something gives me se...... reply
SAME PROBLEM
istg I love love love romance and shoujos genre but holy shit the Second Hand Embarrassment is just unbearable sometimes and I'd feel so bad for dropping stories for that but I need to spare my sanity reply
Look, the best solution in these situations is to pause reading a bit, go have a walk, then go back to reading.
The second hand embarrassment will be much less reply
The skip button exists for a reason, and that reason is to prevent me from jumping into the screen myself and rip the characters apart so that I don't have to see their dumb shit reply
bro this almost happened to me in On or Off when the mc thought director kang was leaning in for a kiss but he was actually just trying to take a photo of the view and then AGAIN when the mc burst into the room looking for the director and he was in a meeting i stg On or Off was a hard read bc of all the SHE reply
