What's ur opinion about immigration problems
I know this is scary to mention on this site but I was curious about everyone's opinion.
So I was talking to my friend about how some countries without naming specif.. it's Japan are kinda racist to immigrants that they usually ask them to act in a specific way for example: eating with a chopstick. Why would u think this is disrespectful if I don't use chopsticks while eating? ( also I know you guys are going to say not everyone thinks that way. I know it's just generally speaking) Or drinking at work parties as a way of showing respect. Someone might be having a problem with alcohol for health reasons and all.
So what I'm trying to say.. They'd expect you to respect their culture by imitating them but it's like they cannot accept that you might have different opinion or can't do like they do for wtv reason.. (also not everyone like this but you know what I mean ╥﹏╥ Istg I mean no hate)
So my friend said that they do this to keep their culture and not get affected by emigrants cultures and stuff. I personally believe that culture is pound to change you take the good deeds of each other and improve for better but What do you think of this? Am I just close minded lmao ┗( T﹏T )┛
If youre gonna migrate to another country, u SHOULD be integrating yourself with the culture...If you're gonna be offended about their culture, myb migrate to a country with similar cultures as yours reply
Ermm japan is most shittiest country their rape rate is much higher than most corrupted country debt and they are most racist human being than American people istg i rather die than go to Japan

Unironically, these line of thoughts are the reason why anti immigration sentiment is on the rise these days. I mean this is coming from someone who lives in asia that's been receiving a lot of immigrants as of late especially from russians trying to escape the draft. They refused to integrate and respect the local traditions and it's been annoying...... reply
I ran across this video where a black actor, I do not remember which one, said that a black director is better. When questioned further the actor said that it is about culture. If I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't say you're being closed minded, however, I would also say that you should try and at least participate and intwine with a country's universal culture norms and values for everyday life if you're going to migrate to that country, for example, not sitting on a priority seat when on a bus. tbh if you are immigrating to another country the least you can do is put the minimum effort to learn their culture.
ofc you shouldn't have to go across your comfort zone (like for drinking and stuff), but something like eating with chopsticks is not hard to learn (and im not sure if they even care about that?). it's like when you go to a friend'...... reply
Anti-immigration stuff is kind of stupid in my opinion, especially when you realize most people who immigrate are leaving their countries not because they want to but because of stuff like wars or escaping poverty. If countries want to lessen the problem, they should help other countries at least a bit or not demonize other countries, which is just...... reply
I see immigrants as universal good for their countries. Claim as that they harm a culture or bring violence are ridiculous, especially the latter as studies show they actually committed less crimes on average.
