Sometimes my emotions will just turn off and my face feels completely blank slate. When I try to act according to my emotions it doesn't feel like I'm having those emotions. You can tell him, but you probably won't be good friends after, it'll make the relationship between you guys awkward. Unless you're sure of yourself and can stand to lose him as your friend, then I'd say go for it. To me, you have been drifting apart and want to hold onto him.
