I found it in chapter 5 ^v^ I checked the raws, the specific term used was indeed jet-black, so his hair color in the manhua must be what the artist decided.
That confused me alot... I actually came back to see the manhua cover to make sure after reading that chap in the novel... ಥ‿ಥ.
