I think it mentioned a couple of chapters ago how the father wanted his wife to become free again cause she kept mentioning how she wanted freedom and thought ending her life would be the way she can regain that again then join her soon after. He is whipped for her but he thinks way outside the box to hand her, her freedom fr. It’s honestly messed up. Idk I think I have it wrong since I haven’t read it in ages lol

Basically both the emperor and empress are super depressed from dealing with royalty stuff. And the emperor just wants his wife to be happy, so by killing her, like in the story(sea foam princess) she can escape.
